TOO B-IG
TO FAIL

The world is always more than we know or recognise. When we imagine it in the subjunctive, images of nature emerge - as it could be, as we would like to see it, as it never was, as it may soon no longer be."Too big to fail" is photography, but it is also fiction. They are stories of a world without us, full of beauty, full of contrast, full of symbiosis, full of wondrous forms and shapes, full of seeming inexhaustibility and infinity - and soon, perhaps, gone forever.

What these images tell us is a sense of foreboding. They are dreams and nightmares, some of which have now come true and flicker across our television screens as real life - melting glaciers, burning continents, landscapes submerged in floods, sudden silence.
They show us the limits beyond which we no longer understand the world, even though it still exists.  And they show us what we are losing, not just of reality, but of our minds and souls.
